1st January 2016
MiFID II is expected to become effective in January 2018 and will impact a wide range of industry participants and reshape overall market structure. Early on in the legislative process, Cboe began dedicating resources to better understand the size, complexity and impact of the proposed legislation, so that we, and in turn you, can plan ahead with confidence.
We understand that preparatory work for legislation of this size requires careful, long-term planning. As much as possible, we want to provide you with a clear roadmap of expected changes. Accordingly, we'll be deploying a series of changes in 2016, such as our Q2 2016 Exchange Release, and the sunset of version one of our binary interface, so as to lay the groundwork for later MiFID compliance.
You can see the full roadmap, along with external trigger points, on our Milestone page. We will be updating this as new information becomes available with major updates recorded in this Headlines section.
